DEATH BEFORE DISTEMPER 3: The third installment in the Death Before Distemper series sees DC Recordings team up with fellow London discophiles and divergent DJ legends THE IDJUT BOYS. We gave them run of the label catalogue and invited them to mix, mash and edit in any way they saw fit. Unsurprisingly their selection leans heavily towards the disco-fied side of the label but with many a surprise thrown in... The crunched up beat mongering of Kelpe and Clause Four nestles alongside the electro fury of Depth Charge's "Blue Lipps"; Big Two Hundred's long deleted punk funk classic "Approach & Pass With Contact" fuses perfectly with Vincent Markowski's mothman opus; The Michael Bundt-esque uber funk of Big Two Hundred's "Kog" forms an unlikely bedfellow with The Oscillation's "Liquid Memoryman", whilst ample doses of Andy Meecham's Emperor Machine keep the disco pace rolling along. The Idjut Boys have even re-edited some of this material to suit their mixing needs and these tracks exist as exclusive new edits that will only appear on this mix CD. The Idjut Boys first rose to prominence via their legendary U-Star parties in the sleazy underbelly of London's Kings Cross. They have since become infamous through their wild and unpredictable DJ sets in the world's finest underground nightclubs as well as their remixes for the likes of Scissor Sisters, The Emperor Machine, A Man Called Adam, not to mention mix albums for Tirk and Nuphonic... This unique mix forms the continuation of the Death Before Distemper series that began with the original 2006 compilation (DCR73) and the more recent "Revenge Of The Iron Ferret" (DCR89) CD.
