As Tom Tyler's sophomore album release, 'Forwards Going Backwards,' picks up where its predecessor left off. Featuring a hazy blend of folk, hip hop & jazz, this album is a late night/early hours classic.
Whereas Tyler's trademark breaks roll and stutter throughout, 'Forwards Going Backwards' ups the ante in terms of live instrumentation, featuring a wide range of guest players on a variety of instruments, including double bass, tamboura, sitar, violin, pedal steel guitar and a range of percussion.
With tracks moving seamlessly from the pastoral soundtrack folk of 'Daylight Robbed Her' to the Miles Davis-esque 'Back Space Altercation', this LP offers further proof of Tyler's ability to meld a variety of influences and ideas to create an accomplished and unique sound.
