J.Saul Kane returns to conduct Alexander's Dark Band and, once again, this affords Kane the opportunity to run with a host of experimental and thoroughly demented ideas. 'Lord Calrec' picks up the raw production found on his debut ADB album Beat Vortex, stripping Kane's Depth Charge sound down to its basic elements. Harsh down tempo beats collide with analogue effects to form twisted instrumental hip hop tracks such as 'Strange man', 'The Lost Dog' and 'Yeti Muncher', feedback and distortion frequently enhancing the lo-fi atmosphere. 'Hell Chase' & 'Greedy Cowboy' darken the mood further; thunderous bass lines merging with abstract samples and sound bites before being fed through an assortment of filters and echo chambers. The filthy breaks and beats of 'Drum Attik' and 'Ratty 2 Toe' pick up the pace, bringing some classic Depth Charge style to proceedings before 'Colour' cools things out with some deep harmonious ambience. Another unique and innovative album from Mr. Saul Kane.
