The Orichaic Phase is the warped brainchild of Demian Castellanos, and we are proud to present 'Respond In Silence', as his debut release. Setting the trajectory for The Orichaic Phase, the A-side finds Neu! meeting Suicide on a subterranean dance-floor for a four and half-minute bout of experimental pop genius. This is an altered reality where treated vocals flicker in and around layers of droning Moogs and metronomic rhythms combine with an incessant bass-line to create a taut yet spacey groove that challenges the listener to stay still.

For the B-side, Castellanos drops the vocal and draws out the rhythm section, providing a striking instrumental arrangement that will appeal to deejays and listeners with progressive tastes and an ear for infectious and unusual melodic hooks.

Whereas comparisons can be drawn between contemporaries such as Stereolab and Broadcast, 'Respond In Silence' offers a unique and highly original take on the 'retro-futuristic' aesthetic, taking it to the dance-floor and beyond.

Demian Castellanos also records as Mesma (Static Caravan) and The Oscillation (Bee & Smoke/Slacyr) and is a key member of the Knives of Resistance drone / improv collective (Aurora Borealis).
